Acid-stained concrete with rich rust and blue variegated tones, a permanent stone-like finish
Acid Stain

Acid Stain

Give your concrete a natural, earthy character. Acid stains chemically react with the surface to create rich, variegated tones that won't fade or peel. The result is a permanent, stone-like finish that's perfect for patios, walkways, and interiors with a rustic or organic feel.

Acid stains aren't a coating — they're a chemical reaction. Metallic salts in the stain react with lime in the concrete to create rich, mottled, permanent color that becomes part of the slab itself. That's why acid-stained floors look organic and stone-like rather than painted.

Pure Reflection finishes acid-stained floors with a high-solids sealer that locks in color and protects against water, oil, and abrasion. Indoor finishes can be high-gloss, satin, or matte; outdoor finishes use UV-stable sealers for direct sun.

FAQ

Acid Stain — your questions, answered

Is acid staining permanent?

Yes — the color reaction is part of the concrete itself and cannot be removed without grinding the surface. That's the upside (it never peels) and the consideration (you can't undo it on a whim). Pure Reflection always installs test patches first.

Can existing concrete be acid stained?

Usually yes. The concrete needs to be sound, free of sealers, and lime-rich enough for the chemical reaction. We test a small area first to confirm color development before doing the full floor.
